Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said that the number of museums increased by 3.7% in 2022 as there were 81 museums in 2020 while they became 84 in 2022.

In a statement on Tuesday17/5/2022 on the International Museum Day, the CAPMAS said that the museums in Cairo represent 23.8% from the total percent of museums while those in Alexandria represent 16.7%.

The number of visitors to museums exceeded 300,000 in 2020 and the revenues of museums recorded more than EGP 100,000 million, the CAPMAS said.
