Egyptian Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan has called on Egypt’s workers to continue their efforts in order to complete the achievements made in the country over the past years.

The political leadership has not yet finished realizing all dreams of Egyptian citizens, Saafan said in an interview with MENA.

The minister expressed thanks to Egyptian workers for their efforts meant to pursue the country’s progress, noting in this regard that major national projects throughout the past stage were carried out "by Egyptian hands".

The manpower minister said Egypt's experience in facing and mitigating the impact of the coronavirus pandemic was deemed "pioneering" by European countries.

Egypt has been able to maintain economic development rates amid the pandemic despite a regression seen in similar rates in developed countries, he added.

In the same regard, Saafan pointed out to the State’s move to support casual workers through a six-month grant introduced by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

As for Egypt’s new labor law, the minister noted that it has been discussed by the Senate and presented to the House of Representatives.

The new law is expected to be debated within the next few months at plenary sessions of the parliament, he added.

Meanwhile, Saafan said his ministry has concluded a cooperation protocol with six foreign companies for training 100,000 male and female young people on future jobs.
