Sisi: Qatari Emir's visit highlights progress in Egyptian-Qatari relations

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that the visit by Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Egypt reflects the progress which the Egyptian-Qatari relations is witnessing in various domains.
This falls within the framework of the interests of both countries, he said.
Sisi made the remarks on Saturday 25/06/2022 while receiving the Sheikh Tamim at the Ittihadiya presidential palace where an official reception was accorded to the Qatari guest, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
The two leaders first held a tete-a-tete meeting then a plenary session was held with the participation of the official delegations of both sides.
Sisi received the Qatari emir and greeted him on the anniversary of taking the helm of Qatar.
For his part, the Qatari Emir thanked Sisi for the warm hospitality accorded to him and offered greetings to the Egyptian president on the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution.
He voiced appreciation to Egypt and its leadership, especially in view of its pivotal role in serving Arab issues and its efforts to promote Arab solidarity in various domains.
He also lauded the wise political leadership of Egypt under Sisi at local, regional and international levels.
The Qatari Emir stressed his country's keenness to enhance cooperation with Egypt in the coming period, especially through boosting Qatari investments in the Egyptian market.
He hailed the Egyptian community's contribution to building and developing Qatar in various domains.
President Sisi and the Qatari Emir agreed on enhancing cooperation in various fields, especially in the energy and agricultural domains as well as boosting trade exchange and investments.
The spokesman said the talks tackled the latest regional developments and the two leaders underlined the importance of rallying up Arab efforts and promoting joint coordination to address various regional crises.
As for the Palestinian cause, the Qatari Emir lauded the ongoing Egyptian efforts to reconstruct the Gaza Strip.
The two leaders shared almost identical views with regard to the importance of reviving the Middle East peace process to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian problem.
The talks tackled the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis on the global economy as well as means of cooperating in the face of terrorism and extremist thought.
The two leaders agreed on the importance of intensifying international efforts to counter such phenomena.
They welcomed the upcoming summit - due to be hosted by Saudi Arabia - between the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and the US.
