Makram stresses importance of coop. with civil society

Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs Nabila Makram has voiced her keenness on boosting cooperation between State bodies and civil society organizations to eliminate poverty in line with sustainable development goals.
The minister made the remarks Monday during a visit to Daqahliya governorate to hand over boats to a group of fishermen from the village of Basat Karim El Din, one of the villages exporting illegal migrants.
Makram pointed out that cooperation with civil society organizations will also offer more jobs for citizens and provide them with decent living conditions.
During the visit, the minister handed over 30 well-equipped boats to junior fishermen gifted by the Sonaa Elkhair Foundation and the Emirates NBD Bank.
For his part, Daqahliya Governor Ayman Mokhtar said that cooperation among various authorities in Egypt will secure job opportunities for the young people in the country.
He explained that the distribution of fishing boats will help boost fishing activities and confront illegal migration in the governorate which lies in the northeastern Nile River delta in Lower Egypt and borders on the Mediterranean Sea.
