President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued directives drawing up an integrated strategy to upgrade fish wealth and lakes in order to capitalize on Egypt's enormous potentials in this respect, affirmed Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister El Sayed el-Quseir.

The move comes in order to achieve self-sufficiency in fish production and attain surplus, added the minister during presiding over the first meeting of the agency for the protection and development of lakes and fisheries.

The political leadership gives top priority to fish wealth and lakes development, he said, adding that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli is regularly following up on this file.

The minister, meanwhile, pointed out to the need of having a database related to the lakes and fish wealth, to contribute to taking suitable decisions.
