Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam has asserted Egypt’s keenness to strengthen its long-term strategic partnership with Germany, which he said is a key factor in maintaining stability and economic development in the region.

The Egyptian political leadership is keen to foster its cooperation with Germany in many political, security, cultural, educational, trade and economic fields, Sewilam added during a ceremony organized by the German Embassy in Cairo where he attended on behalf of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
The ceremony was held on the occasion of German Unity Day and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Cairo-Berlin relations.
The minister greeted Germany on its Unity Day, praising long-standing fraternal relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Egypt and Germany share an interest in climate change issues within the framework of the Petersburg Climate Dialogue held in Berlin last July in preparation for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh city in November, Sewilam said.
The minister praised Germany’s efforts to support economic and social development in Egypt.
