Sisi congratulates new Iraqi PM on winning confidence vote

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shayya al Sudani.
Sisi congratulated Sudani on his new post as prime minister of Iraq after he won a vote of confidence in parliament, said presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.
He stressed Egypt’s constant support for Iraq’s security and stability, Rady added.
Sisi also expressed keenness on boosting cooperation between Cairo and Baghdad, the spokesman further said.
For his part, Sudani hailed as “deep and strong” relations between the two Arab countries.
He greatly appreciated Egypt’s efforts to support Iraq at all levels.
Sudani also praised Cairo’s vital role in enhancing the mechanisms of joint Arab action in the face of challenges.
During the call, Sisi and Sudani also exchanged views regarding Arab and regional issues of mutual concern.
