Sisi, Belgian PM launch "Global Renewable Hydrogen Forum"

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo launched "Global Renewable Hydrogen Forum" during a high-level round-table on "investment in the energy future: green hydrogen" as part of the activities of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNCCC) COP27.

This came in a joint statement by Egypt and Belgium to launch the forum.

The statement said that heads of state and government in addition to representatives of the different international institutions and organizations and the private sector welcomed launching the forum and lauded the efforts exerted to develop the full system of green hydrogen around the world.

The forum aims at facilitating the operation of production and use of renewable hydrogen to contribute to reducing carbon emissions, accelerating just transition to renewable energy, benefiting from environmental, social and economic benefits provided by the international economy for green hydrogen and determine the best tools that contribute to boosting the trade of green hydrogen between the developing countries rich in renewable energy and developed countries.

It also aims at promoting just transition to renewable energy via boosting investments in the projects of renewable hydrogen in the developing countries to achieve the UN goals of sustainable development and boost sustainable growth.
