Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani in Rome on Thursday 1/12/2022, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.

The spokesman wrote on his official Twitter account: "Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is now receiving Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Egypt and Italy an extended historical friendship and joint interests between the Mediterranean banks."

Earlier in the day, Shoukry met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi as part of continued Egyptian-Jordanian contacts and coordination on the sidelines of their participation in Rome MED – Mediterranean Dialogues.

The too diplomat also met United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Geir O. Pedersen on the sidelines of the gathering.
