Petroleum min.: Sukari Gold Mine production amounts to 5.2 mn oz

Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources Tarek el-Molla said mining investment in Egypt has trodden down the right path, with the aim of maximizing returns of the mineral wealth to help further propel Egyptian economy.
In statements during an inspection tour of Sukari Gold Mine, in the Eastern Desert Wednesday, the minister said the mine ramped up production, with a total production amounting to 5.2 million ounces (oz), reaching revenues worth of dlrs 7.5 billion till Feb.
According to the minister, Sukari mine is expected to generate more revenues, in light of intensified research and excavation operations in the area.
Meantime, Molla referred to international companies operating in Egypt incorporating best-in-class advances and trends in this regard, with a view to realizing optimal use of the country's mining wealth.
