President El-Sisi joins Workers in New Administrative Capital for Suhoor Banquet and Inaugurates Egypt's Islamic Cultural Center

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi joined workers in the New Administrative Capital, on Thursday 23/03/2023, in the suhoor banquet of the first nights of the holy month of Ramadan- which is a pre-dawn meal for Muslims during the holy fasting month of Ramadan.


The banquet was attended by Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed Tayyeb, Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and a number of top officials.

The president offered greetings for all attendees on the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

El Sisi thanked workers in the New Administrative Capital for their outstanding efforts in building the new capital over the past years.

He said this area was a desert and now turned into a civilizational and architectural edifice.

Afterwards, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived at Egypt's Islamic Cultural Center in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), which is one of the prominent projects carried out in the Administrative Capital and one of the most important cultural centers in Egypt and Africa to attend the ceremony of its official inauguration.

The president was accompanied by Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed Tayyeb, Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawky Allam, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and a number of top state officials.

The president was briefed by a commander of the Armed Forces on details about the design of the center, which consists of a media center, a public library and places to memorize the Holy Quran in addition to offering various cultural services for people.

The commander pointed out that the center also has 160 trading shops and large spaces accommodating for 116,000 prayers, while the mosque itself accommodates some 12,000 prayers.
The commander added that the mosque has got three international certificates from the Guinness World Records. 

Grand Imam of Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayyeb greeted President El-Sisi, Egyptian people as well as the Islamic and Arab nations on the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Al-Tayyeb said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's inauguration of two giant edifices; namely Masr Mosque and the Islamic Cultural Center, in the New Administrative Capital is a symbol of Islam's embracing of worshiping, science and knowledge in Islam.

He stressed that Islam cherishes science and knowledge, referring to several verses of Quran in this regard.

Afterwards, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi toured Dar Al-Quran of the Islamic Cultural Center in the New Administrative Capital.

The president was briefed on the building by Presidential Adviser for Religious Affairs Osama Al Azhari.

The president was accompanied by Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed Tayyeb, Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawky Allam, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and a number of top state officials and Arab and African diplomats.

Presidential Adviser for Religious Affairs Osama Al Azhari extended thanks to Sisi, Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb and officials attending the opening ceremony of the center, wishing them happy Ramadan.

He also greeted the Egyptian people, Armed Forces and Arab and Islamic nations on the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Al Azhari voiced hope that the mosque will contribute to enhancing cultural and religious activities and training for different categories.

Al-Azhari offered a detailed explanation on Dar Al-Quran, noting that the building has 30 sections decorated with verses of Holy Quran.

The president was also briefed on the scripting of the Othmani Quran, whose copy has been kept for 400 years at Cairo's Amr ibn Al-A'as Mosque.



President Abdel Fattah El Sisi performed the dawn prayer of the first day of the holy fasting month of Ramadan at Misr Mosque in the New Administrative Capital.

Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed Tayyeb performed the prayers with President El-Sisi, along with Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawky Allam, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki, Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and a number of top state officials.
