Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi on Monday received the U23 national football team, coming from Zambia after securing a seat at the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

The minister praised the players and staff for their endeavor to show their best performance during the game.

The team defeated Zambia 2-0 on aggregate to qualify for the 4th edition of the quadrennial African tournament that will be hosted by Morocco between June 24 and July 8.

The top 3 teams of this edition will qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympic men's football tournament in Paris while the 4th-placed team will play the AFC–CAF playoffs to decide the final slot at the Olympics.
