Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired Monday a regular meeting to follow up on the position of implementing the Advance Cargo Information System (ACI).

The meeting was attended by Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait and Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir, among other senior officials.

The meeting aimed to ensure the implementation of various steps that would contribute to providing additional facilities for the release of goods and commodities at Egyptian ports, the premier said.

The attendees studied the status of products at ports across the country from October 2021 to March 26, 2023, as well as an examination of commodities registered on the ACI system on March 1 to 26, Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad revealed.

The value of goods released under the same system from March 1 to 26 amounted to $5.3 billion, he added. (MENA)
