Member of National Dialogue's board lauds President Sisi's response to proposal on continuing judicial supervision of elections

MP Amira Saber, a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue, lauded President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's swift response to a proposal made by the National Dialogue to renew legislation that stipulates full judicial observation over elections and referendums.
In statements to MENA on Tuesday, Saber said the president's response to the National Dialogue's proposal reflects the importance of the national dialogue.
The judicial supervision of elections is always linked to the availability of standards of integrity and transparency, she said.
She further stressed the necessity of a legislative intervention by concerned bodies; the government or parliament, to extend the judicial supervision of the elections, which will expire in January 2024.
