President El-Sisi attends Egyptian Family Iftar in Al-Asmarat City and inspects Al-Asmarat Productive Families Exhibition

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived on Thursday April 6, 2023 at Al-Asmarat City in Cairo's Mokattam neighborhood to attend a Ramadan Iftar banquet with its residents, local and community leaders and some members of the House of Representatives.

Upon his arrival, the president toured Al-Asmarat Productive Families Exhibition, where he was received by Prime Minister Dr Mustafa Madbouly, Minister of Interior Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq and a number of other ministers and senior statesmen.

A number of children greeted the president upon arrival at the venue where he congratulated the craftsmen and expressed his pleasure to meet them.

He chatted with some of the residents about life in their new homes in Al-Asmarat City, built for the purpose to relocate and rehouse slum dwellers in Greater Cairo.

The president asked the exhibitors about the marketing and sales of their products.

He also inquired about their new housing units at the city and they said “the neighborhood provides them with everything they need and is totally safe."

They thanked the president for providing them and their children with a decent life.

They also praised the Culture Palace for offering training courses to them in various handicrafts.

Hassan el Ghandour, the head of Al-Asmarat City, said that the fair’s profits will go to more than 1,400 families from the district. "We export rosaries to Saudi Arabia, underwear to Germany made at Al Asmarat and also handmade silk carpets to Spain and the United States".

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted his constant keenness to support handicrafters, check on them and know their needs, whether equipment, machines or places for their work or to display their products in order to provide everything they need.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi posed for a photo op with a group of young residents of Al-Asmarat City. 

Afterwards, the president headed to the Iftar banquet with residents of Al-Asmarat City.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had an open conversation with residents of Al-Asmarat City on Thursday while having Iftar meal with them along with some popular leaderships and Parliament members.

The president said: "Allah helps those who help others. We will work on making further improvement of services and utilities."

He added: "We have to stay united in order for us to reach progress. We should have confidence in ourselves and what we have achieved."

President El Sisi asserted that the state is working on providing one million job opportunities every year, noting that the new projects and development aim at creating jobs for young people.
