Egypt inks 3 deals with FAO

Irrigation Minister Hany Soweilam has signed three agreements with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) representative in Egypt Nasredin Hag.
The deals are related to carrying out development projects funded by the Netherlands and Japan.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the Irrigation Ministry HQ, Soweilam extended thanks to the Netherlands and Japan over financing these projects, praising the fruitful partnership with the FAO to upgrade irrigation systems and increase water production.
The projects focus on controlling the productivity of land and water and upgrading irrigation techniques in partnership with the Japanese and Dutch governments.
Such projects contribute to supporting the state’s efforts on upgrading irrigation systems, boosting water production and enhancing food security under the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS): Egypt Vision 2030, the minister added.
