An official reception ceremony was held Sunday for Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani at El Ittihadiya Palace as the national anthems of Egypt and Mauritania were played and the Guards of Honor were paraded. 

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Mauritanian counterpart are scheduled to hold talks to discuss ways of boosting the distinguished ties binding the two countries. 

Earlier, President Sisi received his Mauritanian counterpart at Cairo International Airport.
