Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali el Moselhi said that the country's strategic wheat reserve is sufficient for 5.9 months.

The local wheat supplies till now reached 3.44 million tons, he said while laying the foundation stone of the first strategic warehouse at a net cost of about two billion Egyptian pounds in Suez governorate on Saturday 10/06/2023.

He added the local wheat supply season will continue until end of August.

The Minister said the move is part of phase one of the national project for establishing seven giant strategic silos nationwide to safely secure stockpile of basic commodities.
