The activities of the New Alamein Festival were launched on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in the Arab Republic of Egypt under the title “The World is Alamein”.

The largest entertainment event in the Middle East opened its doors to visitors for a period of 45 days, from July 13 to August 26. During this period, the city will receive approximately One million visitors from inside Egypt and all over the Arab world to attend the activities of the festival.

The long-awaited Festival presents a unique summer experience on the Mediterranean Sea.

The festival will include multiple artistic and sports events, as well as exhibitions and entertainment shows in the New Alamien city, which is considered the first and largest integrated regional tourism hub and entertainment destination. 

The largest entertainment festival in the Middle East will also witness the participation of international teams of various sports, in addition to historical concerts by the most prominent artists in the Arab world as well as international stars.

Acclaimed event planning companies in Egypt and the Arab world will participate in organizing the New Alamein Festival, where the events and activities of the festival will be held in three main areas in the New Alamein city which houses all the needed public services at the highest international standards, in line with the design of the city and in accordance with the international standards of the New Alamein as a 4th generation city.

Activities

A press a conference to announce the launch of 2023 edition

The New Alamien Festival organized a press a conference to announce the details of its first edition which is scheduled to kick off from July 13 to August 26.

Amr El Fekky the CEO of United Media Services said in his speech during the press conference: "Here in Alamein, less than 10 years ago no one imagined that the land that housed more than 21 million mines since World War II could be once populated" 

El Fekky added that Egyptians and foreigners were wondering why a magical place like Alamein is still untapped.

El Fekky noted that "After the current regime came into power it started facing all the challenges pertaining to Alamein area."  

The UMS CEO explained that current regime worked on the development of western north coast area and the establishment of New Alamein City based on the highest international standards.

El Fekky explained saying: "POD organizes the New Alamein Festival to support the state's economy, by stimulating internal and external tourism, through organizing artistic and sports activities that occur for the first time in Egypt".

El Fekky announced that acclaimed events planning companies in Egypt and the Arab world will participate in organizing the New Alamein Festival.

El Fekky also said: " The events and activities of the festival will be held in three main areas in the New Alamein city which houses all the needed public services at the highest international standards, in line with the design of the city and in accordance with the international standards of the New Alamein as a 4th generation city".

UMS CEO explained that the New Alamien Festival aims to receive one million visitors from all over the Arab world, and UMS was interested in promoting the festival in order to support the national economy.

For her part, Egyptian Minister of Culture Nevine El Kilany said in her speech during the press conference "There is nothing impossible for Egyptians, I am happy that the ministry is participating in this unprecedented event".

El Kilany added that the New Alamein Festival is one of the tools of Egypt’s soft powers that will reach to the whole Arab world.

Egyptian Minister of Youth & Sports Ashraf Sobhy said in his speech during the press conference " We are here in a global event, which is the New Alamein Festival".  

Sobhy explained that the whole world was interested in Alamein City during World War II but in a way that was not for development, but now we are here for development towards the new republic whose foundations were laid by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Sobhy said: The slogan of the festival “The World is Alamein” is a brilliant one and the whole world will follow this festival".

The Opening Ceremony

New Alamein Festival kicked off with a beach soccer tournament on July 13.

The beach soccer tournament witnessed the participation of more than 40 acclaimed soccer players at the local and the international levels.

Al Alamein Awards ceremony to honor the best artists in the Arab world

Concerts for a notable group of stars in the Arab world, including a concert by the great musician Omar Khairat, Elissa, Tamer Hosny, Ragheb Alama, Nancy Ajram, Angham ,Cairokee band and the international rapper Russ.

- A Teqball tournament featuring the world champions Brazilian star Natalia Guitler and Serbian star Maja Umićević.
- A fashion show by Michael Cinco

- A fashion show featuring the best 10 Arab fashion designers.

- A triathlon race consisting of 3 sports "swimming - cycling - running", all of which are Olympic games.

- An international paddle championship, RC plane shows, an international beach soccer championship, a car race, and a JET SKIS CHALLENGE.

·    About the New Alamien city

The New Alamien city is built across 48,000 acres, with investments exceeding 40 billion LE, with an estimated capacity of nearly 4 million residents.

The city includes 15 towers with a height of 100 meters above the sea level, worth 28 billion LE. The area is distinguished by its location directly on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea.

The New Alamien city houses the longest touristic walkway, 14 km length which is equal to the Corniche of Alexandria.

The entertainment commercial complex, which is the first and largest integrated entertainment and tourist center in the New Alamein city and the northern coast, is also located with a direct view of the sea, in front of the towers area. 

The entertainment commercial complex houses fountains, cinemas, amusement parks, cafes, bank headquarters, in addition to 6 lakes connected to an area of ​​1,700 acres with beaches.

The New Alamein city offers a comprehensive touristic experience through the beach area, the historical area, and the cultural city, which is known as the City of Arts.

The City of Arts is built on an area of ​​260 thousand acres, and contains an opera, training halls, a cinema complex, an open Roman theater for concerts and musical performances equipped with the latest sound techniques, a complex of studios, a museum and a library, in addition to a building for developing handmade skills in the region to preserve the heritage of Alamein city.
