The electoral silence for the Egyptian Presidential Election begins at 12:00 A.M. on Friday, during which candidates’ campaigning inside Egypt shall stop to allow eligible voters an opportunity to freely choose those they wish to nominate without influence.

Egypt’s National Election Authority (NEA) has urged Egyptians to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Elections scheduled for 10-12 December.

In a press conference, Ahmed Bendari, the NEA’s executive director, said elections will be held inside the country starting Sunday at 9,376 polling station nationwide, comprising 11,631 sub-stations.

As many as 15,000 judges will oversee polling stations nationwide during the voting process, Bendari noted.

He announced the allocation of polling sub-stations for the elderly and people with disabilities, affirming that the NEA has ensured all technical and logistical requirements for smooth voting.

Bendari confirmed the NEA’s registration of 14 international organizations and 63 local organizations to observe the elections. Also, the authority approved requests of 24 embassies, 67 diplomats, 68 local groups, and 22,340 local followers to follow the process.

Bendari said that the NEA has approved requests from 115 media platforms to cover the elections.

Egypt is geared up for holding the 2024 Presidential Elections for citizens in the country from Sunday 10 December until Tuesday 12 December a few days after the three-day voting process for Egyptians abroad was concluded.

The marathon is held between four contenders, including incumbent President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party Farid Zahran, President of Al Wafd Party Abdel-Sanad Yamama, and President of the Republican People's Party Hazem Omar.

The four candidates have released their vision to improve people's lives in the coming six-year presidential term.

The final result will be announced on December 18 if no run-off is required. Voting inside the country will take place from 10-12 December.
