Presidential Candidate Farid Zahran Casts Vote in Presidential Elections

Presidential candidate Farid Zahran, the leftist opposition Social Democratic Party nominee, casts his ballot in Egypt's 2024 presidential elections, that kicked off at 9:00 am on Sunday 10/12/2023.

The balloting process, which will last for three days, is held under full judicial supervision.

In addition to Zahran, three other candidates are running in the presidential race, including incumbent President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, who is running for a third term in office and whose electoral symbol is a star; Abdel-Sanad Yamama, candidate of the Wafd party who has chosen the palm tree as his electoral symbol; and Hazem Omar, the Republican People’s Party candidate, with the ladder as his electoral symbol.

The National Elections Authority will complete the vote count by 13 December. The final result will be announced on December 18 if no run-off is required.
