Head of the Shura Council's Arab, Foreign Affairs and National Security Committee Reda Fahmi called for consensus over the drafting of the new constitution.
He also urged all political parties to set aside their differences in order to overcome controversies in order to have a new constitution which represents the Egyptian people.
Fahmi made the remarks during his meeting Thursday with an EU Parliament delegation.
Fahmi, meanwhile, said that he is totally against the domination of any party on drafting the new constitution. He pointed out that the Constituent Assembly (CA) is about to finalize writing the new constitution which will guarantee public freedoms and human rights.
Fahmi also lauded the Armed Forces role in protecting the January 25 revolution and the transitional phase.
