The great people of Egypt,
The proud and generous people,
My feelings today are mixed; I am both happy and looking forward to the future.

I am happy for you for having achieved your national will in a civilized and democratic manner and I am looking forward to being worthy of the trust you have put on my shoulders.

What I have obtained today, at this critical and decisive moment in the history of this country, in this presidential elections, the second landmark of the roadmap to the future over which Egyptian political forces have agreed, is a deserved result of the sacrifices you have made in two glorious revolutions, those of January 25, 2011 and June 30, 2013; the two revolutions which have called for a decent living, freedom and dignity.

The honorable people of Egypt,
I extend my gratitude and appreciation to all of you men and women, young and old for the honorable and democratic example you have set. I am thankful to the millions of Egyptian, whether at home or abroad, who lined up in front of the ballot boxes to carve up the future of Egypt.

I am thankful to Egypt's judges, the guardians of justice, who supervised in full honesty and transparency the entire elections process. I also extend my gratitude and appreciation to the Armed and Police Forces, our country's wings of safety, for the enormous efforts exerted to secure the elections efficiently and resolutely. I am also thankful to the media for documenting the process and allowing our citizens full access to and knowledge of the events minute by minute.

I extend special thanks to presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahi, for providing a serious opportunity of competition in the elections. To him and to all Egyptians, I say, they are urged to continue their efforts in the future stage of building and construction.

The great people of Egypt,
I address you all. You have done your duty. It is now time you worked to transfer our beloved Egypt to a brighter and better future; to restore stability to this country that it might advance to new vistas of progress and greatness well-deserved by its great people. The future is a white cloth that we could shape as we wish: bread, freedom, human dignity and social justice. Divided, we would be committing a wrong to our country, ourselves and our sons. United and cooperating, we would achieve progress and prosperity, pride and satisfaction, a decent life and victory.

My confidence in the Almighty is absolute as is my trust in your awareness of the threats posed to the country. So let us work together in good faith, fully determined to succeed seeking to advance our country and serve the people's interest. At this point, I once again express my gratitude, appreciation and respect to all of you. May God Protect Egypt and Safeguard its people. And long live Egypt.

May God's Peace and Blessings be upon you.
