President Sisi's Visit to Russia

Monday، 24 August 2015 - 12:00 AM

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is expected to begin a three-day visit to Russia on 25 August, 2015 where he will be received by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin. Discussions in Moscow will focus on ways of boosting bilateral relations and on issues of mutual interest.

The visit comes on the heels of the opening of the new Suez Canal which saw a high profile Russian representation by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Numerous meetings at both the presidential and ministerial were held from 2014 through 2015. The meetings are evidence to the political will on either side that strategic relations between the two countries become even stronger.

As in all his outside forays, President El-Sisi seeks to promote the development process in Egypt. This is why he will be meeting, while in Moscow, with top-notch Russian industrialists to introduce them to promising investment opportunities in Egypt.
