Volcanic remnants discovered west of Suez Canal

Tourism Minister Mamdouh el Damaty has announced the discovery of the remnants of the Santorini Volcano that hit ancient Greece in Tal el Dafna area, 11 kilometers west of the Suez Canal.
The volcanic remnants date back to the era before the 26th Dynasty, Damaty assumed, believing that is why this discovery is a historic event.
He appreciated efforts exerted by the Egyptian archaeological mission, whose excavations have contributed to many important discoveries.
