Defense Minister meets UAE Chief of Staff

Defense Minister Colonel General Sedqi Sobhy met on Monday 8/2/2016 with Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi.
The meeting touched on issues of mutual concern in light of partnership and cooperation between Egypt and the UAE in several fields particularly the military domain and efforts to combat terrorism and restore security and stability in the Middle East.
Sobhy asserted keenness of the army on promoting cooperation and boosting pillars of joint Arab action to face current challenges that threaten the peoples of the region.
He also stressed the strength and firmness of the strategic relations between Egypt and the UAE.
For his part, Al Rumaithi conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for Egypt and its army's role in cementing security and stability in the region.
Earlier, Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy met with the UAE military official.
Egypt's military top brass attended the meeting.
