President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, who is currently visiting China, took part on Monday 3/9/2018 in the opening session of the 2018 Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), under the theme “China and Africa: toward an even stronger community with a shared future through a win-win cooperation.”
The summit was held at the Great Hall of the People in the Chinese capital Beijing, in the presence of the Chinese president and African leaders, in addition to representatives of African and international organizations.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said China and Africa have embarked on a distinctive path of win-win cooperation. Delivering a speech at the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation on Monday, he said Africa's development has great potential and the continent is full of hope. The China-Africa friendship and cooperation have broad vistas, and China and Africa can forge an even stronger comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership.

Ahead of attending the opening of the FOCAC Beijing Summit 2018, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi partook in a high-level dialogue that brought together Chinese and African leaders and business representatives. The president also participated in the 6th conference of Chinese and African entrepreneurs.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has said that the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) serves as a logistics and economic hub that effectively contributes to upgrading the international navigation movement and free trade. Addressing the second roundtable, which is held as part of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit, Sisi also said that the SCZone opens the door to new investments.
