Arab Championship for Clubs

The Arab Club Championship 2017 is the 27th  edition of the super Arab Championship for Clubs entitled "Arab Clubs Championship".

The tournament is due to be held during the periodJuly 22 to August 6, 2017 with the participation of 12 Arab teams.

The  Arab Championship first began in the 1980s, then stopped and was reactivated  in the 1990s.

Tournament Awards

The winner of the 2017 Arab Club Championship will earn $ 2,500,000 and the second winner will earn $ 600,000. The teams that will advance to the semi-finals of the 2017 Arab Champions League will receive $ 200,000. It is noteworthy that every participating club will receive $ 25,000.

Playgrounds

The tournament is held  in three stadiums in Egypt:

Alexandria Playground (Alexandria)

Burj Al Arab (Alexandria), which accommodates 86 thousand spectators.

Al Salam Stadium (Cairo), which accommodates 74,100 spectators.

Participating teams

Egyptian Al Ahly, Egyptian Zamalek, Al Wahda (Emirates), Nasr Hussein (Algeria), Al Faisaly (Jordan), Al Nasr (Saudi Arabia), Fatteh Rabatty( Morocco), Al Ahd( Lebanon) Al Hilal( Saudi Arabia), Al Marreekh(Sudan), Al Tarajji (Tunisia) and Naft Al Wasat (Iraq).

Groups

Al Ahly  in the first group with Al Wahda (UAE), Nasser Hussein Dai (Algeria) and Al Faisali ( Jordan), Zamalek came in the second group with al Nasr (Saudi Arabia))and the al Fatteh al Rabaty Morocco) and Al Ahd(Lebanon). 

The third group included the Al Hilal( Saudi Arabia), Al Marreekh(Sudan), Al Tarajji (Tunisia) and Naft Al Wasat (Iraq). 

The first and second group competitions will be held in Cairo, while the third group competitions will take place in Alexandria.

Semi-finals

Qualified teams

Al Ahly booked their place in the Arab Club Championship semi-finals after placing second in their group ranking with six points, while Jordan's Al Faisaly, Tunisian side Al Tarajji and Morocco's Fatteh Rabatty reached the semis after topping their groups.

1- Al Faisaly, Jordan (Topped group A)

2- Al Ahly, Egypt (Best performing second-placed side)

3- Fatteh Rabatty, Morocco (Topped group B)

4- Al Tarajji, Tunisia (Topped group C)

Two semi-final games

Egypt's Al Ahly has been drawn to face Jordan's Al Faisaly in the Arab Club Championship semi-finals on 2 August at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab stadium, while Tunisian side Al Tarajji will face Morocco's Fatteh Rabatty on 3 August at Alexandria stadium.

The two semi-final games will be played at 20:00 Cairo local time, GMT+2.

Final 
Tunisian Al Tarajji booked their place in the Arab Championship final after beating Morocco’s Fatteh Rabatty2-1 in Alexandria, while Jordanian Al Faisaly beat Cairo Ahly 2-1 in the other semi-final.

Al Tarajji faces Al Faisaly in the Arab Championship final in Alexandria on Sunday 6/8/2017. 
Sunday's match takes place at Alexandria stadium at 8 pm Cairo time.
Al Tarajji  were crowned Arab champions after beating Jordanian side Al-Faisaly 3-2.
